A Bull Flag Breakout in the U.S. Dollar 💵 The Morning Print

Good morning!

The U.S. Dollar Index is pushing higher out of its bull flag this morning.

Let's take a look.

The dollar isn't the only headwind facing the market today either.

Treasury yields are moving higher, with the VIX also seeing a nice pop.

Notably, the dollar has been in a steady uptrend since the end of January.

After breaking out above the psychological $100 level, it has refused to fall back below it.

With the dollar still closely tracking the path it took during Trump's first term, that analog may offer a clue about where DXY may be headed this time around.

A stronger dollar isn't inherently bearish on its own, but the pace of the move matters.

If it begins to accelerate out of this bull flag, that momentum would likely weigh on risk assets.
