Today’s Chart of the Day was shared by Liz Ann Sonders (@LizAnnSonders). The chart shows the daily percentage changes in the Bloomberg Commodity Index over the past 22 years. Commodities haven't been this volatile in over a decade. Last Tuesday was the best day for Commodities since March 2009. On the other hand, yesterday was the worst day for Commodities since October 2008. As Liz Ann says...volatile is perhaps an understatement for this asset class right now.
