Chart of the Day
π Today's Chart of the Day was shared by Ian McMillan (@the_chart_life).
- Nvidia ($NVDA) broke out to all-time highs today, closing firmly above a well-established resistance level at $184. It's emerging from a seven-week consolidation, within a solid uptrend.
- With its market cap exceeding $4.5 trillion, $NVDA is the largest stock in both the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq. Renewed strength could be a tailwind for the broader markets, but the opposite is also true.
- Failure to hold above $184 would negate today's breakout and increase the risk of a sharp sell-off, as this would resemble a Failed Breakout.
The Takeaway: The most important stock ($NVDA) emerged from a seven-week stall today. However, failure to hold above $184 in the near term would be a red flag for both the stock and the broader market.
Quote of the Day
"October: This is one of the peculiarly dangerous months to speculate in stocks. The others are July, January, September, April, November, May, March, June, December, August, and February."
- Mark Twain
