- The Gold ETF ($GLD) has closed higher for five consecutive days, notching a fresh record high today.
- It gapped above a well-defined resistance level at $317 this morning and closed near the highs of the day, marking a breakaway gap, the most bullish type of breakout.
- Gold started stalling in April, as stocks were bottoming. Despite taking the Summer off, the metal is still outpacing the S&P 500 by a notable margin this year, with $GLD up +35.5% YTD versus +9.9% for $SPY.
