Chart of the Day

🏆 Today's Chart of the Day was shared by Jamie Saettele (@JamieSaettele).

  • The Solar ETF ($TAN) has surged +13.8% over the past two sessions, its best back-to-back gain since 2023. Still, it remains more than -85% below its 2021 peak.

  • This has also been the strongest two-day run for “clean energy vs. dirty energy” in over a decade, with $TAN/$XLE seeing its best two-day gain since 2013.

  • Jamie points out that political naratives have completely missed the mark in recent years. Trump was expected to be bad for solar and good for oil, yet $TAN outpaced $XLE by +1,272% during his first term, only to lag by -88% under Biden. Now it’s happening again, with $TAN beating $XLE by nearly +30% since Inauguration Day 2025.

The Takeaway: Solar is defying the narrative once again, with $TAN beating the oil-heavy $XLE by nearly +30% since Inauguration Day 2025.
